Description

All our activities stand out for being highly educational, motivating, and student-oriented.

We will start with a guided tour to the archaeological park, including an open-air walk with covered areas to protect visitors from the sun or rains. Students will go through different scenes about human evolution, finishing in the Neolithic era. You can also visit the area on the Roman world, where you will visit a Roman rural house that has been reconstructed from an original house in an archaeological site located in the nearby town of Pinto. During the visit we will provide the students with trivia about the life of Roman families, the games Roman children played, etc. Then we will continue with a workshop on cave art.

The need to express emotions, notions or just to communicate, together with the symbolic skills typical of the human being, caused the emergence of several artistic expressions that we call Prehistorical Art. When this art is carried out on large cave or open-air walls, we call it Parietal or Rock Art. When artists chose small rocks to paint on that may be transported, we call it Mobile Art. In this workshop, we will decorate a small plate using different engraving and painting techniques.

We will discover what, where and how our ancestors did paint, and what tools and dyes they used. We will use oxides, coals and natural soils to draw different archaeological motifs on a plate.
