Description

All our activities stand out for being highly educational, motivating, and student-oriented.

We will start with a guided tour to the archaeological park, including an open-air walk with covered areas to protect visitors from the sun or rains. Students will go through different scenes about human evolution, finishing in the Neolithic era. You can also visit the area on the Roman world, where you will visit a Roman rural house that has been reconstructed from an original house in an archaeological site located in the nearby town of Pinto. During the visit we will provide the students with trivia about the life of Roman families, the games Roman children played, etc. Then we will go on with a loom workshop.

No doubt, this is our most laborious workshop, equally fun and exciting. We will explain the evolution of clothing in prehistory, from animal hides to fabric. We will discover the origin of textile clothing, which evolved from braiding, and will learn the processes of manual and wheel spinning. We will also talk about the most relevant animal and vegetable fibres: tendon, wool, esparto grass, silk, linen… Each student will weave a simple cloth using individual backstrap looms.
