Description

THE NIGHT OF ANIMALS IN THE BIOLOGY AREA

We dare you enjoy a unique and unforgettable experience, and a night full of adventures. Throughout the evening, participants will be able to approach the world of palaeontology and ecology through workshops and educational games. This experience may be a complement to school programmes, using a recreational methodology and providing rigorous scientific contents.

Visitors of the National Museum of Natural Sciences will have a great, exciting time learning what our planet is like, how it has changed over time and the huge diversity it has harboured from the origin of life to the present day.

20.00 h. Group welcome and presentation of activities.

20.15 h. “Animal Gymkhana”.  The kids will discover and study the different specimens in the museum collections. They will learn about the giant squid preserved and how it was dissected, discover the curator’s room and wonder about the Royal Cabinet mysteries.

22.30 h. “Field notebook workshop”.  Several activities will provide children with notions about different ecosystems. A Biodiversity game will be played, and the kids will discover wildlife at the museum pond and learn about the different ecosystems in Madrid.
